Feedback from six new Jigsaw locations
Following an intense autumn of interviews and focus groups with service providers and more than 500 young people, the Jigsaw team has been working hard collating feedback and information across the six new Jigsaw locations in Donegal, Offaly, North Fingal, Dublin 15, Clondalkin and Tallaght.
This process was our first real opportunity to get to know people and structures in the communities and to learn about needs and resources in all their complexity and diversity. It was critically important that we took the time to listen to as many voices as possible in order to plan and develop our Jigsaw sites.
These interviews helped us to understand the community in more depth, helped us gain some clarity about the needs of young people in the community and resources already deployed and perhaps most importantly, helped us begin to think about the change process in these areas.
Here is a sample wordle of some of the key issues for young people that have been coming up across sites.
The first feedback sessions have been held in each new Jigsaw site and the next two months will be spent working with the communities on building a plan to implement Jigsaw, thereby ensuring that young people will always have somewhere to turn to and someone to talk to in their local area.
